How We Came to Be?
“Al Tabee’ ah” (in Arabic) meaning “The Nature” was born out of a realization, cemented by the Covid – 19 Pandemic lockdown and restrictions, that we generate a staggering amount of household waste. How can we reduce this waste? What opportunities does it create, and what is the impact on natural resources? These thoughts plagued us. We had to act – failure to do something would haunt us forever.
We planned, we networked, we built a team. We pressed on despite uncertainty in the face of Covid–19 pandemic and its effects on the well-being of individuals and businesses.
From the start, we knew our dream could not be achieved within the confines of a single team. Hence, we made friends and connected with like-minded individuals and organizations.
We stand proudly among PepsiCo's MENA Greenhouse Acceleration Programme, 2022 finalists.
Collaboration with seasoned organizations such as PepsiCo reaffirmed our efforts towards plastic-free consumption. Hence, we knew we were on the right tract and were inspired to scale our nature-based product stream – we ventured into reusables and plantables, in addition to disposables.
While individually we are mindful of our carbon footprint, we are ensuring to take our place in the global carbon footprint reduction effort. We are seeking out partners with shared vision and contributing to United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the global sustainable development goals (SDGs), in particular, SDG #12, ‘Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG # 13 ‘Climate Action’.
